Whether you’ve used contact lenses for years or are completely new to them, we’re here to help. Even if you’ve tried contacts in the past and not got on with them, we encourage you to reconsider as advances in lens technology mean that there are many more options available now. Contact lenses are thinner and more comfortable to wear than ever before, and we are confident that we can help every patient choose the perfect lenses to suit their vision and lifestyle.
Your appointment and exam
Your contact lens consultation will last around 35 minutes. First, our optometrist and contact lens expert John will discuss your vision, lifestyle and expectations. He’ll explain the types of lenses available and the differences between them. This chat will help establish the best type of lenses to suit your needs.
During the appointment, John will ensure your prescription is accurate and current, and once everything is in order he will dispense the lenses and teach you how to insert, remove and care for them.
We offer a free trial of contact lenses so if you are new to them and unsure, you can try them out and see how you get on. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how easy they are to use.
Types of contact lenses
As an independent optician, we aren’t tied to any one manufacturer, meaning we can supply the best lenses to suit your individual needs. Lenses we most often supply are CooperVision, J&J, Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, Scotlens and Menicon.
As well as the usual daily, 2-weekly or monthly disposable contact lenses, we also supply specialist lenses. These include toric lenses for those with astigmatism, varifocals for people with presbyopia, rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses and contacts for keratoconus. We also offer myopia management contact lenses for children aged 8 and up.
Aftercare and monthly plan
We recommend regular aftercare appointments for all contact lens users. If you’re new to lenses, we’ll have a review appointment with you after a few weeks. Once you’re used to them, the optometrist will let you know how often to return for aftercare.
Our monthly modular scheme makes it easy to arrange a steady supply of lenses, solutions and anything else you need. A bespoke plan can be created specifically to fit your needs, including aftercare appointments, and you’ll find that a monthly subscription works out cheaper than paying the list price for your contacts.
